Seizures…my baby was having seizures. At first the seizures were few and far between, days apart. I didn’t know what Aidan was doing. He would be talking to me and then just blank out and I mean literally be gone. His eyes would roll up into his head and he would just not be there. But with in days they (the seizures) were happening more frequent. I took him to his pediatrician. He said if the seizures were still occurring in two weeks to come back. He also told me to try to keep a total of how many seizures were occurring. Within the two-week period the seizures seem to come on more rapidly. The daycare noticed them more and more. They were very concerned. I was very concerned. What could have caused this to happen??? He was a NORMAL 3 year old!

The seizures started after he had a recommended flu shot!

Aidan was becoming a drastically different child. My little lover, who liked to sit on mommy’s lap and give me kisses, was gone. In his place was this mean little boy with no regards to feelings. I called the pediatrician’s office and was told that Aidan’s regular doctor was on vacation. I demanded to see some one else so they made the appointment with a colleague. Through that colleague we were sent to OSF Peoria’s Children’s Pediatric Doctor. After all the tests, it was concluded that Aidan had a form of Epilepsy know as Simple Complex Seizures. He was put on the medication Tegratal. I later read that this medication was used for bipolar disorders, people coming off of crack and cocaine. MY CHILD WAS ON A TWELVE-YEAR-OLD DOSAGE. Aidan was only 3 years old. I cried for the nine days he was on this medication. Every three days we had to increase the dosage. NOTHING was happening. The seizures weren’t any better and weren’t going away. In fact the seizures were worse—15 to 20 a day!

GOD however was looking out for my little one. On a Thursday evening I received a phone call from Doc Sam. He was calling to see if I would be interested in a position in his doctor’s office. I said I would but I had to explain to him about why I had left my position in Peoria. I told him about Aidan. He said "Marla I can help him. Be at my office first thing Monday morning." He explained to me what he did in his office.

I became very interested. My mom and I aren’t opposed to alternative medicine. We just weren’t aware that it was available in the area.

We started with Doc Sam on May 1st 2006. Doc said that Aidan had a major toxin in his little brain and he could have a 2nd toxin but that it wasn’t showing at this time. He said that after treating the 1st toxin the 2nd one would become noticeable and we would treat it later if it was there. The 1st program consisted of Calsol. I immediately stopped giving him the synthetic medication and we started that day on Doc Sam’s program. One week after starting the program, Aidan woke one morning looked me in the eye and said "Hi mommy!" You have to understand what I had been dealing with was a wild child. This child awoke a different child. He was calm and loving, and it only got better.

June 6th 2006 Aidan had a check-up. Doc said the Calsol had reached its course. BUT Aidan was still having seizures, however, they weren’t as often or intense. Doc said the 2nd toxin was showing up so he started him on another program, this time with St. John’s Wart (herb).

On June 7th 2006 I think Aidan had what would be his last seizure. He is again the loving child I knew was in that wild child’s body!

To this day there has never been a recurrent or any evidence of a seizure- the nutritional therapy worked and is very amazing!!

Yes I do work for Doc Sam now. SO you could say I was blessed twice! Once for Aidan’s health and once for being able to be a part of the wonderful program that saved him from a life of ill health!
