NUTRITIONAL  THERAPY

The human body is an energy-producing system that takes nutrients from the foods we eat and converts them into the body elements and energy we need in order to live and function. There is no body activity in which nutrients are not involved.  We are totally dependent upon our foods and their nutrients to furnish the raw materials and nutritional factors required for the synthesis of chemical substances indispensable to the body=s growth, maintenance, repair, and well-being.

The quality of our nutritional intake is absolutely related to the quality of our health and life.  It can=t be otherwise.  But as you have seen, the nutritional quality of our modern diets is predictably deficient in the vitamins and minerals absolutely required for the body to function at it=s best, and to avoid deficiencies and degenerative change.

The deficiency of even one of these necessary food factors can significantly impact on the others.  Two very celebrated researchers in the researchers in the field of nutrition, Drs. Harte and Show, reviewed over 200 scientific studies of dietary interrelationships.  Their findings revealed, the shortage of a single essential vitamin, mineral element, amino acid or fatty acid will create a shock wave that spreads to affect the utilization and/or functions of every other essential nutrient.@

In other words, correct nutritional exposure is absolutely related to disease processes and to wellness.  Certainly, genetic influences can predispose us to problems, but even here, appropriate nutritional supplementation, based on biochemical individuality, may be of help.

The nutritional recommendations made by Dr. TerBeek are not his alone.  They are a combination of his own trial-and-error determinations but predicated on several decades of use and experimentation by biochemists working independently of him.  Members of several other professions have also contributed to this knowledge.  We believe it is correct to presume that the nutrients we recommend bring to the body those essential elements necessary for repair and healing of dysfunctional or diseased body parts, whether the problem is caused from injury, chronic infection, or other disease states.

It is easy for us to believe, in light of all we have previously discussed, that we have an opportunity to undo the damage to the tissue cells from the chronic under or over exposure of nutrients that have mixed in such a way as to alter the body=s normal biochemical response.  Additionally, as individuals, we may be so different biochemically that we in fact need extra help from select nutrients for the optimum functioning of our bodies.
